Why Do I Need to Restart My Mac Every Week?
Restarting your computer helps keep it running smoothly. It clears the active memory (cache), stopping any tasks that are eating up RAM. Even if you’ve closed an app, it could still tap your memory. A restart can also fix peripheral and hardware issues!
Restarting regularly keeps the Kandji Agent (checks in every 15 minutes) and the MDM component (checks in once a day) in touch with your computer so that it can accurately update apps and the OS (Operating System), these updates are necessary to keep your computer and the OMCA network secure.
- Kandji recommends restarting every few days, and especially if an update seems "stuck". See more about how Kandji updates work here
The most common objection to restarting is that you "won't have all your apps and pages open" and it might take time to get "right back to where you were".

The more you delay updates or fail to restart on a regular basis, the more you may be "interrupted" when your computer is not functioning properly...
