Single Sign On - Duo

OMCA has adopted Duo as our Single Sign-On provider

What is DUO?

Duo Single Sign-On (SSO) is a cloud-hosted single sign-on solution (SSO) solution which can act as a Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 identity provider or OpenID Connect (OIDC) provider that secures access to cloud applications with your users’ existing network logon credentials. Duo also provides 2 factor authentication (2FA) for all integrated logins. OMCA also uses DUO as 2Fa for when you log on to your OMCA computer.

What is 2FA?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a specific type of multi-factor authentication (MFA) that strengthens access security by requiring two methods (also referred to as authentication factors) to verify your identity. These factors can include something you know — like a username and password — plus something you have — like a smartphone app — to approve authentication requests.

Multi-factor authentication (2FA) protects against phishing, social engineering and password brute-force attacks and secures your logins from attackers exploiting weak or stolen credentials.

How does DUO 2FA work?
Duo’s 2FA solution sends an authorization notice to the Duo Mobile app installed on your smartphone.  You simply reply to the notice on your phone and you are logged in. Duo Mobile is available for both iPhones and Android, as well as wearables like the Apple Watch.

If you don't have a smartphone Duo can call your phone number. When you answer the call you are authenticated and logged in.

Duo supports a large number of applications, logging in via push notification is fast and easy with Duo Mobile.
